Brief
Create a scratchboard portrait of
an influential person of your choice then accompany it with a feature
story. I chose Grace Jones because her androgyny and attitude towards gender have influenced
my own.

RESULTS
After scratching the portrait on top of the image, I adjusted the brightness levels to increase contrast. To colorize it, I painted over the background and her lips, leaving her skin
to mimic the boldness of the original. The color palette is pulled from the androgynous flag but desaturated. My final emphasis on androgyny is within the divider between the subheader and body text, an abstraction of the male and female sex symbols.
